This time, we had a little chat with one of the best in wedding planning – Blush by Brandee Gaar. Read on for our interview!

How did you get your start in the event business?

I worked at the Gaylord Palms Resort right out of college as a Conference Coordinator and worked my way up through the ranks learning many different roles of Corporate Event Planning. In 2007 I left to start my own wedding design firm as I love the relationship you get to build with clients, planning the most important day of their lives! 10 years later, I have been blessed with an incredible team of planners and fabulous clients who let us do what we love every day!

What do you love most about being in the event/wedding business?

I love the personal relationship we build with our clients. We get to know their families, their close friends….we get to become friends! I love seeing how happy they are to be so in love and getting to share that day with them!

If a bride is considering a theme for her wedding, what is your best recommendation for incorporating a theme?

I’m not a fan of the word “theme” necessarily but every wedding should have a mood. I always ask ” how do you want your guests to describe your wedding years from now?” Do they want it to be a big party with a great band and open bar? Do they want it to be romantic and intimate? Do they want it to be timeless and formal? All of these things play into every detail we bring into the wedding.

What approach do you advise in order for it to be tasteful and yield an amazing ­looking event?

Every detail should have a purpose. Don’t do big tall centerpieces just because you think that will wow your guests when your ballroom has 12′ ceilings. This might call for something lower and more lush. Don’t have a big, dramatic cake if you and your fiance hate cake:-) Make the details unique to you!

When people inquire about your services, what can they expect?

All of our services are inclusive so we don’t do a la carte services or add ons. We try to make the planning process very simple and stress free so we have created our services to include many things at each level that we already know will be helpful when the event gets closer.

What is your best advice to avoid planning stress for any special event?

Hire amazing vendors and trust them to do their job! They are experts in their field and will help guide you to a fun, stress free event!
