Where did you meet?
It all started one day when we both decided to swipe right on Tinder. We both never thought we would find our future spouse on the app, but we ultimately did! Our first date was in San Antonio, Texas going hiking for almost 5 hours. After the hike, we spontaneously decided to drive 1.5 hours to explore a small Texas town called Fredericksburg to end our night. Since the first day we met, we have not gone one day without talking to each other! We even lasted dating long distance when Kevin spent 2 years stationed with the Navy in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
How did you this was the one?
We had grown so close to each other before Kevin went to Cuba but being long distance for those 2 years solidified that we were each other’s half. This long-distance period really made us fight for each other and for our relationship.
What do you share in common?
One of the main things we have in common is that we both speak Spanish. Kevin’s father grew up in Spain and that is a big part of his family. I (Kayleigh) learned Spanish in school and did a study abroad in college. When we first met, Spanish culture was one of the first things we connected on. We also both love golf. I (Kayleigh) never really played it before meeting Kevin, but now we make it our weekend activity.
Tell Us about the Proposal.
We love to travel and planned to go out west to Utah to visit Kevin’s family. Kevin knew how important it was to make the proposal private. He took us to Snow Canyon in St. George, Utah and romantically proposed under the stars. It was perfect because it was just us and nature. The next day we took his aunt back and took pictures there so we could have memories of that day, but the official proposal happened the night before.
What part of the wedding day are you looking forward to most?
We are both most looking forward to the first look. We decided to do the traditional walk down the aisle. We also have a very special song called On the Nature of Daylight that is going to be played as it is our song.
What inspired your wedding colors?
Our wedding colors are officially navy and rust, but technically you can say that every color in the rainbow is sprinkled in there. Kayleigh loves florals and wanted an eclectic look for the wedding by mixing together reds, navy, rust, oranges, and greens. We imagine it to be like a garden with a bunch of greenery and different colored flowers.
