Fork-tunate Love: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FORK
Fork-tunate Love: A Day In The Life Of A Fork is a behind-the-scenes look at all that happens before the I Do’s are said and it’s time to party! People are hustling and bustling everywhere working to create the couple’s unique vision for their wedding reception. As a fork, I may play a small role but I am extremely proud to be a part of the total vision of the couple. I’ve also realized every object at a wedding has a story and a reason for being there that is special to each couple.
Who Am I? You see, I’m the fork that’s rented for each new love story. My name is Grayson, I live at A Chair Affair with all my friends – Baroque, Gatsby, Doria, Rose, Brushed, Luxe, Matte, and Capri. We’re always excited when we’re the one picked to bring yummy food and sweet treats to your guest’s mouths. Once we’re selected, we’re off to the spa to be cleaned, polished, buffed, and packaged. Running through the burnisher tickles it’s always FUN! The dish team always handles us with great care. I am a beautiful brushed gold and I have friends in other shapes and sizes. I also have friends who are silver, gold, rose gold, and matte black. Myself, Grayson, I’m newer to the neighbourhood, and no one has caught me on film yet, “I’m waiting for my close-up Mr. DeMille”, will you be the one to catch me?
The Eventful Event
After I am prepped and ready, it is time for the big day! The atmosphere is electrifying, with a soft glow of twinkling fairy lights and the sound of laughter. I was among people chatting, glasses clinking, and admiring all the decor. The delightful smells from the entries swirl around me, and I can’t help but feel excited. I am playing a helpful part in this special day. Some of us have even had the honour of being the fork for the married couple’s first slice of cake! Sharing this moment with them is super special and sweet.
Rinse and Repeat
As the night came to an end, the newlyweds left and the crowds followed afterwards. I found myself in the midst of the post-party cleanup. A waiter whisks me away to the kitchen to be placed back into my tote. Next, the driver packs my tote and all the others back into the truck to head back to A Chair Affair. There, we are treated to another trip to the spa to be washed and polished and ready for the next big event. I’m one lucky fork to share in the flavours, laughter, and cherished moments that will hold a special place in my metallic heart! Oh, what a life!
