Marie and Rob knew they wanted two things for their big day. It had to start with a majestic Catholic cathedral church ceremony and end with a romantic candlelit reception in downtown Tampa. After looking at these photos, we say, check and check to meeting both of these goals. This Candlelit Downtown Tampa Wedding is nothing short of stunning. Every detail was meticulously planned and executed. Let’s take a look at Marie and Rob’s beautiful wedding and candlelit reception.

A Traditional Cathedral Ceremony

Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa provided the perfect location to give Marie and Rob the breathtaking ceremony they dreamed of. As a complement to this traditional cathedral ceremony, Marie wore a classic chignon and an elegant v-neck gown with a long chapel train. Marie’s bridesmaids wore taupe dresses with cowl necklines. The bouquets were filled with white and cream flowers and cascading green vines. Rob looked dapper in his dress blue uniform. Marie and Rob exchanged their vows under Sacred Heart’s soaring cathedral ceilings and intricate stained glass windows while all their friends and family looked on.

Candlelit Romantic Reception

Marie’s biggest goal was to make this large downtown Tampa ballroom feel intimate, unique, and inclusive. She wanted to ensure that all their guests felt that they could be engaged in the reception experience. Elements that made this reception so unique included the decorated scaffolding surrounding the dance floor with hanging vines and disco balls and all the candles that filled the ballroom. Candles completely covered our long Monaco Tables. The couple chose our Gold Chiavari Chairs to keep with the gold color theme. Our Gold Rim Chargers took center stage at each place setting. Guests were able to locate their tables by checking the box wall hedge with a sleek acrylic seating chart.

The couple created a focal point dance floor space with lots of florals and greenery hung from square scaffolding. It was also accented by sparkling disco balls and romantic candlelight. Even though this was a large 200 guest wedding, these touches created a very intimate vibe. A cozy conversation nook was situated near the dance floor for those who wanted to relax and take in the scene. The nook used our High Back Emerald Gretchen Chairs, cream settee, and coffee table. Guests took to this space with their cocktails and mingled throughout the evening.

The Cake, Tampa Bay Lightening and Florida Cookies

The wedding cake had a unique octagon shape with four tiers and was covered in small vines. The groom’s cake was a nod to the couple’s love for the Tampa Bay Lightening hockey team. As a souvenir of their day, the couple gave out specially crafted cookies in the shape of Florida with a heart over the city of Tampa. An All You Need is Love neon sign hung on a hedge wall behind the dessert table.
