Meet Katelyn and Ryan, our October winners! This lovely couple will receive $500 off of their wedding rentals with us. Read about their sweet proposal below!
Where did you meet your fiancée? Ryan and I met almost 6 years ago at Best Buy. We were both working there part time. He worked in musical instruments and I worked front lanes. I always wondered by he lingered a little too long at my register when buying snacks! Haha!
How did you know he was the one for you? I think the defining moment when I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life was when I asked him what “romance” was to him. His response: “Sitting together outside while its raining. Me playing my guitar and you by my side. Not talking. Just being.” My heart instantly melted. On top of it all, Ryan can make me laugh when I just feel like the world is against me. He evens me out.
What are the things you have in common? We both love music. He plays every instrument possible and I love listening to new bands and attending live shows. We may not agree on the type of music but we both have passion for it and it plays such a huge role in our lives.
How did he propose? We were in Georgia visiting my best friend Jessica and taking engagement photos for her and her fiancé. (Ryan is into photography and I have the artistic point of view for it). After the day had ended, there by a small stream, Ryan urged me to back up so he could take a picture of me with the landscape. It felt weird to me but I played along. Hidden in the bed of flowers near the stream was a box. Ryan urged me to open it. I love everything vintage in life so he used his creativity to build this box (as displayed). It had “our songs” with lyrics in the bottles, pictures of us throughout our 4 and a half year relationship in chronological order (in the book) among other things. There lay in the middle was the ring placed in a birdcage. He got on one knee and asked in front of my best friend.
What part of the wedding day are you looking forward to most? Marrying Ryan and partying with our friends and family. I’m sure my cheeks will hurt from smiling so much!
What inspired your wedding colors? Our colors are champagne, gold, and maroon. Our theme is a 1920’s speakeasy rustic theme. I love vintage. Ryan and I both search out Speakeasys to go to whenever we visit new cities.
