Timeless Wedding Traditions with a Twist

A Fresh Take on Wedding Classics

There are a few staples that guests just expect at every wedding.  Things like a champagne toast, a ceremony arch, and a wedding cake.  While they might be expected, there’s no reason to expect them to be boring or be the same as at every other wedding.  We are honored to be invited to participate in a stylized photoshoot at Cyprus Grove Estate House with some other fantastic vendors. Each vendor offers a fresh take on these classics.  Let’s check out these Timeless Wedding Traditions with a Twist.  We think you’ll find some fun and unique ideas to incorporate in your upcoming nuptials.

Toasting the Bride and Groom

The reception toast:  It’s a chance for the father of the bride to say a few funny sentiments, the best man to embarrass his friend, and of course, there’s the emotional toast that makes everyone tear up.  There’s only one standard drink for this memorable tradition: champagne.  Don’t let your reception servers just pass out the glasses or go from table to table filling drinks.  Consider a champagne glass tower pouring.  This involves the bride and groom and provides a fun photo opportunity as they pop the bubbly, start the tower flowing, and then grab the first glasses from the top.  Guests are sure to love it too.  Our Champagne Saucer Glasses are perfect for stacking high.

More Than Just Cake

Don’t worry, the traditional wedding cake isn’t going anywhere.  But it is sharing the spotlight with some other fun dessert ideas.  Brides are opting for a whole dessert table and spread. The wedding cake is still main the showstopper but other delectable choices now are flanking the sides. This featured wedding cake by Kristen Marie Cake is truly a work of art with its hand-painted flowers and sleek, smooth frosting.   Kids and the young at heart will love the milk and cookies idea.  Small glasses filled with milk are then topped with a chewy, chocolate chip cookie.  Other dessert ideas include these fresh raspberry tarts, mini parfaits, and dipped Rice Krispie treats.  Mini cupcakes are a perfect tiny-bite addition that just never disappoints.

Arches and More

The Arch provides just a bit of visual interest, especially during an outdoor ceremony.  They come in so many shapes and sizes, from arches to triangles, circles, and traditional chuppahs.  We recommend choosing one that matches the theme and design of our whole day.  Here are a few ideas to get your mind working.  The best part is that no two arches will look alike.  You can add your own floral design, colors, and greenery.  We love the idea of draping it with white curtains to soften the look.

A Lasting Memento

Consider hiring a custom portrait artist to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art.  These artists not only provide a lasting memento of your big day but they also are quite entertaining to watch.  Guests will be amazed as they look over their shoulders and see a wedding memory come to life on the canvas.  Event Painting by Jamie shows us how it’s done.  Imagine this beautiful art hanging on your walls for years to come.

A Wedding That’s Unique

We hope these few ideas help to get your creative juices flowing and inspire you to think of new ways to craft your Timeless Wedding Traditions with a Twist.  Classic traditions don’t have to be boring or basic.  Your guests will love these fresh surprises!  Let A Chair Affair help you bring all your ideas to life.  We look forward to working with you!
