Modern Styled Shoot At Whitewood Ranch

Planning and vendors

This Modern Styled Shoot at Whitewood Ranch was a vision brought to life by Jennifer Browne at White Rabbit Event Planning. When asked what her inspiration was, she simply answered the venue itself. With the all-white interior of the building, vaulted ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows she wanted to have a theme that would enhance the sleek design. As for the color palette of black and white, she wanted to create a dramatic contrast to the white interior of the inside and the lush greenery outside. When selecting the vendors she would partner with she made sure they would each be able to bring a modern and stylish edge to the shoot. Let’s take a closer look at how all the vendors came together and collaborated on their ideas.

table set-up

The table set-ups were put together to bring out the elegance of the room, with the long dark wood tables and our Black Wysteria Chairs and Black pads along the table. To further elevate the look, a sheer black runner was placed down the center. Then, it is topped with gorgeous centerpieces created by San Smith at The Flower Studio. The centerpieces included white florals with greenery to blend the natural beauty of the outdoors. Furthermore, tall black candles were lit and placed throughout the flowers. Some were in tall glass holders, while others were on black metal taper candle holders. As for the tableware we provided our Black Rim Glass Chargers, White Lamour Napkins, Matte Black Flatware, Grace Etched Red Wine Glass, and our Grace Etched Water Goblet.

ceremony options

When we asked Jennifer if there was a certain time during the shoot that perfectly captured her design vision, her answer was the ceremony portion. When she saw the models set up in front of the two ceremony backdrops it was everything she envisioned. With the black and white contrast against the modern backdrops, along with the floral arrangements it captured the vibe they were going for. She also mentioned how the natural light pouring in from the windows showcased the elegance of the theme and the creativity of everyone involved. In the beginning, she mentioned one of her challenges as being able to balance the contrast of black and white with the natural elements of the venue. She overcame that challenge with a big help from the florist who helped bridge the gap between the interior design and the outside greenery.

the models

Having two pairs of models for this shoot was another opportunity to showcase the different styles of dresses and suits that could be worn during this modern wedding. With one bride wearing a more simple wedding gown, and the groom in your basic black and white suit. Then the other couple had the groom in a red suit, which added a pop of color to the black-and-white theme. Also, the bride was wearing a more detailed wedding gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves.

The cake

Last but not least we want to mention the extravagant cake that was made for today’s shoot. It was done by none other than Vanessa Negron at Sweet Miss V’s. Her modern edgy take on this three-layer cake was impeccable. With the white base of the cake, the black icing popped and showcased all the amazing detail put into each layer.
