Amber & JR
When it comes to planning a wedding that reflects the couple; Amber and JR’s modern bohemian wedding did just that! From the wedding ceremony overlooking Lake Fairview at the beautiful Cottage on Lake Fairview, to their gorgeous DIY wedding reception, everything was perfection. Thanks to photographer Katelynn Boop, we are able to relive their romantic day!
Bohemian D.I.Y. Wedding
When it comes to DIY weddings, we love seeing how creative our couples can be. From shopping the vintage markets for the perfect rugs for the dance floor, to creating one-of-a-kind centerpieces, Amber and JR’s bohemian wedding was a beautiful reflection of both their styles and their cultural backgrounds.
The father of the bride is Kahnawake-Mohawk Native American, the mother of the groom is Puerto Rican, and the father of the groom is Venezuelan. Bringing in elements that represented all of these different cultures was very important to the couple. The bride worked with her father to design and create a teepee that would go behind the sweetheart mahogany farm half-moon table during the reception.
For food, the couple chose to highlight the Latino heritage of the groom’s family with dinner from Alex’s Cuban Cafe – a perfect marriage of the two families becoming one.
Elegant BoHo Reception
After the ceremony, the guests were treated to dinner while enjoying the sunset over the crystal water of Lake Fairview. The tables were covered in ivory linen, and our mahogany resin folding chairs completed the look. When it came time to toast the happy couple, the guests raised their champagne flutes in celebration.
And speaking of celebration: as the moon shone above, the couple shared a dance in their intimate bohemian wedding reception. On the vintage rugs that the couple found, they invited their family and friends to join them.
