Leticia and Rojelio: Our February Wedding Rental Winners!
It’s our favorite time again – announcing our wedding rental winners! Each month, one lucky couple gets to win $500 off of their wedding rentals, and we’re so proud to introduce our February winners – Leticia and Rojelio! We had a quick chat with our future bride, and got the scoop on the couple’s meet-cute, their wedding goals, and more!
Where did you meet your fiancé?
We met on match.com in July of 2014.
How did you know he was the one for you?
Honestly, I can’t really pinpoint the moment that I realized that he is the one for me. There’s a good reason for that… I can’t even count the number of times that I have felt like I am falling in love all over again and that’s not because I have ever fallen out of love with him; it’s because he often does or says something that feels like it’s greater than anything he has ever said or done. Imagine a lifetime of that!
I will say this, for me it is important to know that the person that I am going to marry is willing and able to be my partner in anything and everything, just as I am. That there is an understanding with one another even if there’s some confusion lingering in the background. Do you follow? That’s something special and it involves a lot, including, and most importantly, trust. I know that together we are stronger, as long as our faith is grounded, that God is front and center in our union, we will fight all battles alongside one another and not with one another.
What are the things you have in common?
We are both driven, family-oriented, foodies, and adventurous. Best of all, a big part of our happiness is making sure that the other one is happy.
How did he propose?
Well, Rojelio was planning a special type of proposal on my first trip to his family’s annual gathering, which takes place on the fourth of July every year. Well, let’s just say it didn’t go as planned. On July 4th, 2016 in Woodbridge, IL there was a big family BBQ at his brother and sister-in-law’s house. Everything was great. Towards the evening, things happened and words were said. I was very upset and refused to speak with him, he was persistent and I was being stubborn, turning my back to him. Finally, in a very odd tone he says, “stop it, this wasn’t supposed to be like this, I was going to ask you to marry me and now it’s all messed up.”
Well…
Standing in his brother’s backyard by the 22-foot inflated water-slide, I turned towards him with what was initially angry tears and a smile. I jumped on him with a huge hug, throwing us both to the ground. He repeated, “I was going to ask you to marry me.” I responded, “was?” And he said, “Will you marry me?”
And here we are today 🙂
What part of the wedding day are you looking forward to most?
Saying our vows; we are writing them.
What inspired your wedding colors?
Well first, it was going to be a very light sky blue and ivory, sort of like a winter wonderland color scheme. Blue is my favorite color and I love almost every shade of blue, but then I started pinning. If you’ve ever used Pinterest, then you know that it gives you ideas based on your search history. I then saw palettes of the blue and ivory with pink, then with pink and gold. I changed my colors 3 times. How many times have you heard that before 🙂
My colors are now: blush, mist, ivory, and gold.
That sounds just lovely, Leticia! Congratulations again on being selected as our February wedding rental winners!
